Pam Toy Post

So, right off the bat, I am going to break my own rules and post a toy that is not mine and that actually isn’t a cat. Still, this really great Norakuro currently on eBay deserves some attention! (If you have an extra $1,200 it can be yours…) And, let’s face it – he has a Felix-y quality. I have long searched for a stuffed one, but this and another from the same seller on eBay ($$$$ – listed under Felix) are the first I have ever seen. Back on track with a photo later!

Pam’s Pictorama Blog Debuts

Pam here, launching my new blog Pam’s Pictorama, with a couple of old, but precious to me, photo strips of me and Kim. These are among several we have – the best of the lot! One was taken at a party we attended that had a photo booth – hotsy totsy! The other I think came from a trip to Rye Playland. That was my first trip, but Kim has terrific childhood memories of it, including learning to swim there in a glorious old pool which he showed me.

I have always been especially fond of photo booths. They capture the essence of what I love about a certain kind of photos of people – that “Gee, gosh, wow” moment of “I am having my photo taken and I want to show the world how happy I am!” It is one of the things I adore about the photo postcards of folks with a Felix the Cat dolls that I collect and have shown. “Here we are, posing with Felix and having the time of our lives!”

Anyway, I hope you will follow this or check in occasionally. Check in on the blog and let me know if you stop by!

Welcome!

Here I am, stumbling through my first (very inexperienced) post wondering if I will get it to work at all! However, assuming I have and that you have somehow also found your way here – yay! Welcome!

What you’ll find here – photos and other images, mostly old and often with cats. By all means, weigh in and let me know what your think. For those of you who have wandered over from the Kim Deitch FB page – you may recognize some things, but I will try to keep it interesting and different. I assume Mr. Deitch will make guest appearances as well. Who knows – Waldo may even show up!
